Another Fangirl Friday!

So, the man I want to talk about today took me by surprise. In all the stories I’ve written, most of my “villians” don’t have much of a face in my head. I don’t know why that’s the case, but they don’t. I like to think I still write them pretty well, when I have them, even without this. Of course, more recently, there haven’t exactly been villians, as the conflict has been either internal or between the MCs.

But when I wrote Choices, whether I meant to or not, I had a picture in my head for Mukesh. If you’ve read Choices, you probably do not like this man (I know I don’t). So, I hadn’t really set out to have an inspiration for him. But there I was, scrolling through tumblr one day (again) and found this picture:

Mukesh - Milind Soman

Milind Soman, no ph. credit.

I nearly spit my coffee out when I saw it. He was so perfect visually that I couldn’t believe it! And I’d never seen him before! Well, I saved that picture fast! I didn’t know who he was, but I definitely wanted to see more.

Yay Google! For you are all–okay, not quite, but it certainly didn’t fail me in this. before I knew what hit me, I had a mess of pictures of this man. I was surprised when I found a lot of them with his hair all cut off (you should all know by now that I have a bit of a weakenss for men with hair!). But that seems to be the norm for a lot of these men. They do a few photo shoots or a movie or two with hair then BAM it’s gone.

Milind Soman seemed no different. However, I did still manage to find quite a few of him with those lovely locks. The second picture I found of him was even more like the Mukesh in my head.

Mukesh - Milind Soman (5)So serious! And the eyes just seemed so perfect to me! Deep and like they see way too much. And the costuming in this photo couldn’t have been more perfect if I’d picked it out myself.

But as I am rarely content with just a couple of pictures, I wanted to see more of him. I had his name, but not much else.

He’s a very interesting guy. He is a runner and does a lot of charity runs as well as his modeling and acting. Probably his biggest (or, well, most likely known here) role is as Saladin in Arn: The Knight Templar, a mini-series-turned movie imported from Europe. Not exactly the most well-known. I’ve watched it. Much of it is subtitled, but if you can stand that, it’s a good movie and Milind does a fantastic job as Saladin. Most of his other work is in Middle Eastern-based films. Mukesh - Milind Soman (4)

He’s a very inspirational type of person and it almost makes me sorry he’s the inspiration for Mukesh. 😉 I mean, look at that smile. If that’s the first picture I’d seen of him, there’s NO way I’d have been able to think of him as my villian.

But he is a good actor and can look quite fierce when the situation calls for it (as we see above). Or… quite (I love you, Milind, I really do, but this is SO…) goofy:

Mind you, I still think (even with the over-the-top stuff) the man is sexy as hell, though I know some might consider him a bit old. But he runs 10ks in his sleep (well, maybe not but close) and when you see a smile like this:

Well, I know I’d be hard-pressed to resist it.
