Guest Author: Jamie Fessenden

I’d like to welcome the very talented Jamie Fessenden to my blog today! Jamie has a lovely diverse list of books and today he talks about his latest, Murder on the Mountain, which I am looking so forward to reading. I have to say, I’m thrilled to see another true bisexual character and I want to thank Jamie for writing them.  Take it away, Jamie!

Day Seven of the Murder on the Mountain blog tour!

KyleKyle Dubois knew he was bisexual before he met his wife, Julie, in college. Though he was very private about it, he was pleased to discover Julie enjoyed comparing notes about which men they both found attractive. They were very happy together until she passed away from lymphoma, just three years after they’d married.

A couple years later, Kyle made detective. By then he’d shut out most of the people in his life, except for his partner Wesley Roberts. If he hadn’t had to work with Wesley every day, Kyle probably would have shut him out too.

Five years later, Kyle was still grieving for the only person he’d ever felt truly comfortable with. He cared about Wesley, but he had yet to talk to him about anything personal in his life. Then one cold, foggy night on Mount Washington, he met Jesse Morales:

The kid was gorgeous. Not handsome in a rugged, masculine sense, but beautiful. He had large, soft brown eyes and full, sensual lips that seemed somehow familiar, though Kyle was certain they’d never met. Then the kid looked up and him and parted his lips slightly, and it struck him—Ingrid Bergman. Something about Jesse looking up at him in the fog with those big, beautiful brown eyes reminded Kyle of Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca, saying good-bye to Bogart on the runway.

10856587Christ, I must really be lonely, Kyle thought.

“Jesse, this is Detective Dubois,” Ted said as Kyle extended his gloved hand.

Jesse seemed to find something about Kyle’s face fascinating, to judge from the way he was staring. “Detective.”

Here’s lookin’ at you, kid popped into Kyle’s mind, but he just said, “Jesse.”

From that moment, Kyle’s life begins to open up again. Jesse proves to be willful and often infuriating, but Kyle begins to trust him… and to care about him.

For the next four weeks, Murder on the Mountain will be touring the blogs of several MM Romance authors, providing . If you leave an email address in the comments or email me at, you’ll be entered into a drawing for either a free copy of Murder on the Mountain or a $40 gift certificate to Dreamspinner Press!

Check out the other stops on the tour at:

When Jesse Morales, a recent college grad who aspires to be a mystery writer, volunteers to work on the summit of Mt. Washington for a week, he expects to work hard. What he doesn’t expect is to find a corpse in the fog, lying among the rocks, his head crushed. The dead man turns out to be a young tourist named Stuart Warren, who strayed from his friends while visiting the mountain.

Kyle Dubois, a widowed state police detective, is called to the scene in the middle of the night, along with his partner, Wesley Roberts. Kyle and Jesse are instantly drawn to one another, except Jesse’s fascination with murder mysteries makes it difficult for Kyle to take the young man seriously. But Jesse finds a way to make himself invaluable to the detective by checking into the hotel where the victim’s friends and family are staying and infiltrating their circle. Soon, he is learning things that could very well solve the case—or get him killed.

Oh its such a poignant scene in Casablanca, but in your tale it links the first time Kyle sees Jessie and its possible pivotal to the story and Kyle been able to reach out & love and not walk away like Bogart’s character had to do, sending Bergman away from danger?

Thank you for a chance to win a copy of this book slholland22 {at} hotmail {dot} com
